Valerie Faldo was Nick Faldo’s wife.
There is a soap opera-ish story here, so bear with me a minute.
Nick was married to his first wife, Melanie Rockall, in 1979, but they divorced when she found out that Nick was having an affair with his manager’s secretary, Gill Bennett.
He married Gill, but they split up years later after Nick had an affair with a 20-year-old golf student of his.
Nick continued “hanging out” with the golf student for three years, until he eventually met Valerie. The golf student was so upset when he left her for Valerie that she beat the living crap out of his Porsche with a golf club when she found out.
In the end, Nick Faldo married Valerie in 2003, and they remained together until 2006, when Faldo filed for divorce.
I am not making any of this up.
