Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano is obsessed with everything baseball.

She owns Dodgers season tickets, keeps a Dodgers blog and started Touch, her own line of baseball clothes for women.

It’s not surprising, given her obsession and celebrity status, that Alyssa has dated a full handful of baseball players. She’s been linked to Brad Penny, Carl Pavano, Barry Zito, Russell Martin and Tom Glavine.

That’s 4 pitchers and 1 catcher by my count, which is too bad for Tony Danza’s character on Who’s the Boss (he played second base for the Cardinals). But it’s great news for Sam Malone.

Alyssa Milano is most famous for her role on the 80s sitcom Who’s the Boss, but she’s managed to stay relevant throughout her career with roles on Melrose Place, Charmed, and most recently, My Name is Earl.

Hope Dworaczyk

Hope Dworaczyk is Jason Kidd’s girlfriend. She’s also rumored to be a model, but I can’t find much evidence of it.

She does sound like a pretty cool girl, though. From her Myspace page:

Now, I understand that a woman might think that dating a professional athlete would be pretty cool. Especially someone that everyone will recognize when you drag him to the mall. I get that, and Kidd’s resume is impressive enough that even the most casual sports fan could pick him out of a lineup. He’s a hands down Hall of Famer.

But damnit, use some common sense here.

Kidd has been divorced since January, 2007. That’s not a dealbreaker on its own—lots of good people get divorced. But the guy once had an alcohol problem, plead guilty to domestic abuse charges, had numerous affairs, and was later accused of breaking his wife’s rib and smashing her head into the console of a car.

Hope Dworaczyk presumably knew all this, and still thought it would a good idea to date the dude.

Oh yeah, and now she’s pregnant with his kid.

Abigail Clancy

Abigail Clancy was once a member of the craptastic girl band Genie Queen, but they broke up because a) they were terrible b)nobody came to see them and c)they couldn’t get a record deal.

It wasn’t until years later that Abigail burst into the British limelight with her runner up performance on Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006. Her newfound fame earned her modeling gigs with Maxim, Nuts, OK! and GQ.

After Britain’s Next Top Model aired, Abigail started dating Peter Crouch. She earned official WAG status when she showed up with him to the 2006 World Cup.

Their initial romance was short lived. Crouch broke up with Abigail Clancy after tabloids published photographs of her snorting cocaine. There were also reports that she was cheating on Crouch with an ex-boyfriend.

There are many ways to break up with a girl, and the importance of the choice can’t be overstated. Try to be too nice, and you’ll probably end up back with her again. Go too hard on her, and you might send her straight to the loony bin. How did Peter Crouch break up with Abigail Clancy, you ask? By having his lawyer fax over a memo saying they were no longer seeing each other, and prohibiting Abigail from continuing to say they were together.

It’s hard to think of a more definitive way to end a relationship, but I guess a lawyer’s fax wasn’t hard enough on Abigail Clancy, as Crouch got back together with her again a few months later.

And if you’re interested, Abigail Clancy has a 2008 calendar for sale. I know the year’s already half gone and everything, but I guess you can always cut out the pictures. 

Melissa Lima

Melissa Lima unexpectedly shot into internet super stardom in 2004.

The whole thing happened innocently enough when Melissa accompanied her husband, then Dodger pitcher Jose Lima, as he sang the national anthem at Dodger Stadium.

It isn’t exactly shocking that this photograph nearly crashed the interwebs, but the account of exactly what happened is pretty interesting.

As Ump Bump tells it, MLB.com initally put the photo on their site in its full glory, but quickly cropped Melissa out of it after Jose got upset about the type of attention his wife was receiving. It was already too late, of course, as her picture was on every sports forum on the planet.

Giorgia Palmas

Giorgia Palmas is Davide Bombardini’s girlfriend. She’s been dating the Bologna F.C. midfielder since 2005.

Giorgia rose to fame in 2000, when, at the age of eighteen, she was crowned Miss Italy. She represented her country at the Miss World competition that year, and was the heavy favorite going into the competition. However, she came in second to Miss India, Priyanka Chopra.

The next year she was picked up a recurring role on the popular Italian variety show Buona Domenica, and in 2002 she became one of two showgirls on Striscia la notizia.

Striscia la notizia sounds like it’s part Weekend Update,part Daily Show, part The Man Show and part 20/20. Giorgia’s job on the show was to dance around and be hot. Word has it that she was very successful in this capacity.

Giorgia posed nude for Max Magazine in 2005, and the spread was such a success that the magazine asked her back the following year to pose for her own topless calendar. She accepted.

Giorgia is now the spokesmodel of Cotton Club underwear.
