What are WAGs?
WAGs is an acronym for Wives And Girlfriends. The term 'WAGs' came into common use during the 2006 World Cup, when WAGs such as Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole dominated the gossip and sports headlines.
The scope of WAGs has changed since its inception. No longer strictly used in relation to football, the term WAGs is now frequently used in relation to the wives and girlfriends of all major sports.
About WAG Rankings
With 24 hour sports coverage, athletes' lives are becoming more and more public, to the point where who an athlete is dating can be big news (remember the A-Rod Madonna hullabaloo?).
For whatever reason, people care about their WAGs
